White List & Authorization Codes

Q: I have multiple accounts in my profile; do I have to issue the authorization code for each account to the same recipient?
A: NO. You only have to issue the authorization code one time. The recipient reside on your White List is shared by all accounts for that profile.

Q: What is the "#Authorization Code Received" folder?
A:
This folder contains message from other ZAPaSPAM's user who issued you an authorization codes.

Q: What is the "# Requesting Authorization" folder?
A: This folder contains e-mail messages from senders requesting authorization code. When the auto-send of "Undeliverable Notice" feature in the setup options is activated, our system will automatically send an Undeliverable Notice to an unauthorized sender. Upon reception of this notice, the unauthorized sender would use the notice and reply back to request for an authorization code.

Q: I belong to a mailing list where the sender's e-mail address changes on every e-mail message. For example, one message is from and the next is from . How do I continue to receive this mailing list?
A:
By entering the domain name of the sender in the White List. In this example, from the Authorization Management menu put "@mailist.com" into the "E-mail to add" field, put a name so you can identify it like "Subscribed Mail" into the "Name" field and then press the "Add to List" button.

Q: I added a junk e-mail address to the White List by mistake. How can I undo it?
A:
From the Authorization Management menu select the junk e-mail address then press the "Delete" button.

Q: Can some one spoof e-mail addresses that reside on my White List?
A: Although most spam messages use a fake e-mail address; however, more spammers are starting to use spoof address of a real legitimate e-mail address. Thus there is a slight chance that a spam message could use a spoofed e-mail address that resides on your White List. However, with ZAPaSPAM you can prevent e-mail spoofing by issuing an authorization code to individuals on your White List and activate the "Secured Mode" feature.

Q: How come my system does not send out "Undeliverable Notice" or issue an authorization code?
A: Make sure that you have the correct SMTP server in the "Setup Option", check with your local ISP to see whether they use authentication for their SMTP server. If they do, make sure you enter the appropriate ID and password for SMTP authentication.

NOTE: Depending on your location, we have noticed that some countries experience delay when using their SMTP to send out e-mail.
